Mediterranean Yacht Charter 2027: Why and How to Book Early

Many of the best crewed yachts in the Mediterranean are booked for July and August long before summer begins. Repeat guests often reserve their favourite yacht for the following year as soon as their charter ends, and the most popular weeks fill first. If you are thinking about a charter in summer 2027, the autumn and winter before are the time to start.

Why Booking Early Matters

• Choice of yacht. The yachts with the best crews, layouts and reviews are the first to go, especially those sleeping 10 to 12 guests.
• Your preferred dates. Weeks around school holidays and the peak of July and August book up first. Fixed start days and minimum stays narrow the options further.
• Early-booking terms. Some owners offer better terms for early reservations. These are never guaranteed, but they close well before the season.
• Easier logistics. Flights, villas and private jets are also easier and better value to secure early.

When to Start

For July and August, we recommend starting between October and January. For June and September, which offer warm water, quieter harbours and often better value, January to March still leaves good choice. Shorter lead times can work, but you will usually be choosing from fewer yachts.

How Booking Works

Most Mediterranean crewed charters use the standard MYBA charter agreement. Once you have chosen a yacht, the dates are secured with a signed contract and a first payment, usually around half of the charter fee. The balance and the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) are paid closer to the charter. We set out the full schedule and every cost before you sign.
